CONSULTANCY OVERVIEW

Richard Shaw & Associates is a personalised Management and recruitment Consultancy founded by Richard (Dick) Shaw.  Dick has over twenty years experience in the recruitment industry, ten of which were as a Director and Partner of a medium sized (20 staff) consultancy.  Prior to this, Dick worked for twelve years as a General Manager with both the Sharp Corporation of Australia and a Division of the Linfox Group.

Richard Shaw and Associates is also a member of an International Networking Group called NPA.  This group has been established for the last fifty years and is based out of the US.  It has approximately four hundred and fifty members located worldwide including the UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, China, Australia, New Zealand and some European countries

The purpose of the group is to work with your network partners in the exchange of candidates and job positions on a split fee basis to ensure that we meet the needs of our international clients and candidates.  We utilize a very powerful software package, which lists both candidates and jobs worldwide and is only available to NPA members.  We also use the more personal approach by way of phone and email to our partners.

Dick is currently the International Director of NPA for the Asia Pacific Region

Richard Shaw and Associates has been asked to work for our International clients overseas.  The benefits being, the NPA network and the industry knowledge (Medical) together with the nominal fees charged in Australia as opposed to those in other parts of the world.  The client gives us the assignment and we, through the network, source suitable candidates and charge back to the client on success the Australian fee structure.  The benefits to the clients are that we understand their business, they trust our judgment; they get the outcomes they require for a sensible fee.

Recruitment Consulting is a detailed and sophisticated process of selecting the best available candidates to meet the criteria.  A thorough understanding of the company, management culture, and a clear job description is created by Richard Shaw & Associates by way of a Company and Position Profile.  This profile is then signed off by the client and used in the interview process for all candidates to ensure continuity of information to potential employees on the role, and terms and conditions of employment.


CONSULTANCY SERVICES

Permanent Placement Assignments:

Experience within Australia, SE Asia, UK and New Zealand has given Richard Shaw & Associates the skills, experience, and knowledge to successfully complete recruitment assignments across all levels of management as required. The recruitment strategy is first agreed with the client and operated according to procedures approved by the client. Before an advertisement is placed or an industry search is undertaken, Richard Shaw & Associates will search their substantial database for appropriate candidates.

Contract Executives:

From time to time, there is a need to employ staff on a short-term basis.  Richard Shaw & Associates is experienced in finding suitable candidates for such positions and managing the contractor as their own employee for as long as required.

Psychometric Testing:

David Heap, an Associate of Richard Shaw & Associates, is recognised as a very professional, experienced, and caring Psychologist. David is well experienced in assessing candidates, giving vocational guidance, and developing psychological skills for elite performances. Interim reports can generate results within hour of the testing taking place. David’s costs are additional on application; however, a figure of $850.00 could be used as a guide.

External Candidate Reference Checking

Included, as part of our fee structure is an External Reference Check by Australian Background, a company specialising in providing accurate pre employment screening and background checking on candidates. This includes criminal record check, entitlement to work, education and professional qualifications and employment history and references. This process provides protection for employers from the risks associated with hiring inexperienced, unqualified or fraudulent candidates. The Fee for this service is $500 per candidate

Candidate Performance Guarantee:

In the event of a candidate proving to be unsuccessful within a three month time period, then a replacement guarantee will apply.


OPERATING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Fee Structure:

Richard Shaw & Associates is extremely competitive. Fees are based the total salary package (confirmed prior to any work being undertaken) including $15,000.00 car allowance and 9% superannuation.  We invoiced on completion of assignment (signed letter of offer) and payment is due within fourteen days of invoicing to comply with our guarantee period of three months.

Richard Shaw & Associates has engaged the services of an external reference-checking organisation – Australian Background.  The fee per candidate is $500.00 Plus GST, which will be invoiced separately from the main recruitment service fee.  This service is for their Corporate Search package, which includes:

Where Richard Shaw & Associates is requested by a client to work on interstate or overseas assignments, Richard Shaw & Associates pays for hotel, food, and room hire expenses.  The client pays airfare expenses approved by the client prior to the costs being incurred.

A cancellation fee of 50% of the agreed fee will be invoiced in the event of the client withdrawing the agreed assignment for any reason.

In the event of a candidate proving to be unsuccessful within the initial three-month period, then our replacement guarantee will apply.

All advertising costs associated will be billed directly to the client by Richard Shaw & Associates advertising agency Advertising Energy Pty Ltd, all costs to be agreed to prior to placement of an advertisement.
